If you are a fan of Helen Dunmore and live in the South East, why not pop along and see her at the Essex Book Festival on 12th March? Charles Elton author of the much heralded Mr Toppit will also be appearing as part of a Penguin New Writers Series at the Festival, as will Marion McGilvary, author of A Lost Wife’s Tale. Penguin World War 2 Promotion in Libraries

Reading Groups across the country are currently choosing six books to recommend to other readers in Penguin’s War Promotion in Libraries. The list includes Evelyn Waugh, Primo Levi, Penelope Lively and HE Bates. The groups have been asked to choose books that best represent what it was like to live through World War Two, which began 70 years ago this year. The list will be announced at the end of March.
