Bath reads Coe!
Jonathan Coe¹s new novel The Rain Before It Falls will be this year¹s Big Bath Read a partnership of Penguin Books and Bath Literature Festival. Jonathan will launch the Read in the city in November and from then until his event at next year¹s Bath Literature Festival, (28 Feb-8 March), individuals and reading groups across the Bath & North East Somerset region will be reading this deeply moving and evocative book. Signed copies of his book are available in all good Bath bookshops.
Tickets for his and other events, are available from the Festival¹s website www.bathlitfest.org.uk from December.
There is also an online competition for a reading group to have a drink with Jonathan before his event in February.
Readers Group Convention organised by winners of 2007 Readers’ Group Prize!
Books on the Broad reading group are launching a new event for readers on April 4, 2009: The Readers' Voice: A Convention for Readers and Reading Groups. The event, which will take place in Jesus College, Oxford, will promote the interests of reading groups and will explore the benefits they can bring to the wider community. The one-day Convention will include talks by 14 expert speakers, discussion forums, performance readings and workshop sessions and will be open to all at a moderate cost. Oxford Literary Festival April 2009
