As well as searching for a book or author by title, author, ISBN or keyword, you can use the words and, or and not to make your search more specific. Here are some examples:

AND (&)
Your search results will include all of the words searched for e.g. 'William' and 'Shakespeare' will return all authors or books containing both 'William' and 'Shakespeare'.

OR (/)
Your search results will include at least one of the words searched for e.g. 'William' or 'Shakespeare' will return all authors or books containing 'William' or 'Shakespeare'.

NOT (~)
Your search results will include specific words searched for e.g. 'William' not 'Shakespeare' will return all authors or books containing the word 'William' but will exclude those also containing the word 'Shakespeare'.

If you choose not to search using and, or and not, then the advanced search will default to an 'exact phrase' search.
